ZLINE oven repair in Edmonds: large oven not heating, bake element replaced.

The large oven on this ZLINE dual-fuel range in Edmonds stopped heating. A terminal contact on the bake element under the oven floor had burned out, so the element could no longer heat. We replaced it with the updated version of the bake element and ran the oven to confirm it was heating again. Real photos from the job below.

What happened

From a cold oven to a glowing new element

The problem

The homeowner’s ZLINE dual-fuel range has gas burners on top and two electric ovens below. The larger of the two ovens stopped heating.

The diagnosis

The fault was in the bake element, the heating element under the floor of the large oven. With the range pulled out and the element unbolted, the cause was easy to see: the contact at one of its two terminals had burned out, the connector charred and deformed, while the other still looked normal.

The fix

We installed the updated version of the bake element, which comes with its own leads and terminals, and ran the oven. The new element glowed red across the oven floor. The range went back into place and we lit the burners for a final check. The repair carries our 90-day warranty.

Common ZLINE oven problems

Why is my ZLINE oven not heating?

On a dual-fuel ZLINE range the ovens are electric, so a failed bake element is one of the most common causes. A failed broil or convection element, a thermostat or selector switch, or a bad wiring connection can cause it too. On this range the contact at one of the bake element terminals had burned out, so the element was replaced with its updated version.

How can you tell an oven bake element has failed?

A working bake element glows red when the oven heats. If it stays dark, we check it with the power off. Visible damage, like the burned terminal on this ZLINE, a blister or a break in the element, is a clear sign it needs replacing.
